The Roles of MDeC
- advises the government on IT legislation and policies;
- develops MSC Malaysia-specific practices and set world-class standards for MSC Malaysia information infrastructure and urban development;
- attracting world class companies to Malaysia. for example, to collaborate with Intel to train local graduates for ICT jobs;
- nurturing Malaysia's SME's e.g. to help local animation firms to go international. "Shock 3D" an example of Malaysian success story in animation oversea.
- to catalyze the creation of local technopreneurs and K-SMEs in ICT, e.g. to assist the SMEs in Pre-Seed Funding of up to RM150K, and subsequently to help in their commercially viable ICT projects.
